Acting within the legally prescribed competence[1]  to monitor the implementation of laws concerning the prohibition of discrimination and recommend measures to public authorities and other persons to achieve equality, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality refers to public media institutions the following

RECOMMENDATION OF MEASURES FOR ACHIEVING EQUALITY

The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality recommends to the Public Media Institution “Radio Television of Serbia” to:

– enable broadcasting in accessible formats of basic information of the Republic Electoral Commission regarding the upcoming elections, i.e. to make information on the upcoming elections available to hearing impaired viewers through the use of subtitles and sign language, in order to enable full and timely information of these persons for the purpose of their equal participation in elections.

– ensure the broadcasting of the election program in accessible formats as much as possible, i.e. to make the election program accessible to hearing impaired viewers through the use of subtitles and sign language, in order to enable full and timely information during the election process.

In accordance with the law, no appeal or any other legal remedy is allowed against this recommendation of measures for achieving equality.
