Commissioner for the Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic discussed with Goran Svilanovic, General Secretary of Regional Cooperation Council, headquartered in Sarajevo.

The main topic of the meeting was regional cooperation in the area of equality and human rights in all segments of society, especially improvement of gender equality which is one of the most important areas of social life. They also discussed institutional mechanisms for improvement and cooperation of the states in the region.

Commissioner Jankovic and General Secretary of the Council Svilanovic agreed that almost all countries in South Eastern Europe are facing common challenges and that exchange of experiences and joint action aimed at improvement of respecting human rights are accurate ways to strengthen ties and overall cooperation in the region.
