Acting within the framework of legally prescribed competencies [1] to monitor the implementation of laws concerning the prohibition of discrimination and to recommend measures to achieve equality to the public authorities and other persons, the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality addresses to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development the following
RECOMMENDATION ON MEASURES TO ACHIEVE EQUALITY
The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality recommends to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development:
- To amend or supplement, in cooperation with the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veterans’ and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Health, the Rule-book on additional educational, health and social support for children and students, in the part relating to the engagement of a companion for personal assistance to a child, in order to eliminate any doubts regarding the establishment and provision of this type of additional support.
- To prescribe, within amendments or supplements to the Rule-book on additional educational, health and social support for children and students, who is the person deciding on the engagement of a child’s personal companion, who can provide this kind of support and under which conditions, how are personal companions financed, and how are the ways of providing this special form of support for children and students controlled.
No appeal or any other legal remedy is allowed against this Recommendation on measures to achieve equality, since the Recommendation does not decide on the rights and obligations of legal entities.
