Commissioner for Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic discussed further common activities aimed to improve the position of Children in Serbia with Director of UNICEF in Serbia Regina De Dominicis and expert and long-term Special Rapporteur of UN General Secretary in area of protection of children and their rights Najat Mjid Maala.

Jankovic stressed that reports of international and domestic institutions, as well as the practice of Commissioner, reveal that challenges are still present in exercising of the right to education of children and youth from sensitive groups, children with disabilities and Roma children.

Director of UNICEF in Serbia Regina De Dominicis reminded that this year marks the 30^th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and emphasized the significant role of the institution of Commissioner that UNICEF successfully cooperates with. This cooperation is also implemented through support to establishing of Youth Panel of the Commissioner for Protection of Equality, which represents a good example of youth participation and is one of the most important rights guaranteed by the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
