Commissioner for Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic visited Gornji Milanovac, where she had a meeting with the Municipality President Dejan Kovacevic, with whom she discussed the improving of equality of citizens in this municipality, especially the greater participation of women in power at the local level. After the meeting, Commissioner opened the exhibition “On the road with a motive”.

The exhibition by two young photographers Kamila Banac and Marina Rusic symbolizes the departure of young people to school and work abroad, who always take some motive with them, to remind them on their homeland.

Commissioner said that this exhibition and the project with same name are important also because of cross-generation cooperation, since all exhibits were made by pensioner women, as well as because of strong emotional message that those motives carry. It is also the way to empower women’s activities at the local level through art, stressed Jankovic.

Progress of the whole society, including women, is not just an economic issue, it is the matter of cultural and spiritual advancement, concluded Commissioner.

The exhibition “On the road with a motive” was previously organized in Firenza and Vicenca as well.
