Within the SEE Winter School of Legal Protection Against Discrimination, Commissioner for the Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic gave a lecture on the role of the independent institution in the prevention of discrimination.
Commissioner spoke to students from the region about mechanisms for the protection against discrimination of Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, illustrating them by the examples from the practice of this institution.
Course attendees went to lectures and workshops to learn about definition and elements of discrimination, types of discrimination, to meet with the international legal framework, but also with anti-discrimination regulations in the region countries – Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Macedonia and Albania.
SEE Winter School of Legal Protection against Discrimination was held from 22-26 January, at the Faculty of Law in Belgrade, within the project of Regional Cooperation between Faculties of Law aimed to the improvement of protection against discrimination, with the support of GIZ.
