Our disabilities do not make us disabled, but our abilities make us able. Persons with disabilities don’t have special needs, they are the same for all of us, different are only the ways in which we fulfill them, stated Commissioner for the Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic at the opening of 9th Internatonal Belgrade Festival BOSIFEST 2018. She stated that this event, with this year’s slogan “The Ramp” is of great importance not only with persons with disabilities, but for greater public, because it reminds us and tells us that we can do lot more in order to adapt our society to all its citizens, without exception.
Jankovic said that this festival, which will screen 15 movies that deal with the life of persons with disabilities, who are some of the movies authors, Belgrade and Serbia send a message that the society is ready to understand differences and accept them as value, as well as that everybody that lives with some type of disability should be visible and equal, to live in accessible environment that provides support in education, employment, health, culture, sport and other segments of life, to which is Commissioner for the Protection of Equality completely dedicated.
Jury of this year’s Festival, consisted of director Goran Markovic and actors Dragan Petrovic Pele and Jovana Stojiljkovic, will announce the best movie, best movie director and scenario and award several special prizes.
Along with comprehensive movie program, there will be creative workshops, round tables and music performances held in a period between 10 and 12 October.
