Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, Milan Marinovic, met with Brankica Jankovic, Commissioner for Protection of Equality, to discuss topics from two independent institutions’ scope of work, as well as their future cooperation.
Main subject of discussion referred to activities from the area of personal data protection, having in mind that personal data protection is very important from the area of protection against discrimination, because these data may refer to sex, family and marital status, residence and other protected characteristic, while two Commissioners agreed that in this moment it would be better to postpone the implementation of new Law on the Personal Data Protection.
Commissioner Jankovic also expressed interest in other challenges that Commissioner Marinovic is facing in his work, including the issue of free access to information of public importance.
