Commissioner for the Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic participated at the regional conference of the magazine Lepota i zdravlje “Pro-Femina 2018” and reminded, in the introductory part, of the prevailing opinion that there are still professions which are reserved only for men, especially if they are on high positions and with better remuneration.

It is the common prejudice that many jobs from the economy area are not for women and the title of panel “In the Ring” motivated me to suggest the organizers to dedicate one of the future conferences to men who are occupied with traditionally “female” professions in order to shatter stereotypes, said Commissioner.

At the panel “In the Ring: Five Women Success Stories”, moderated by Commissioner Jankovic, personal professional stories were shared by Ljiljana Karaklajic, general manager of “D Express”, Katarina Taskovic Dragan, owner and director of “Zivinoprodukt”, Biljana Jovanovic, owner of fashion company “Luna” and Alisa Maric Pecaric, author of blog “Read a Book”.

Panel participants encouraged women to fight for the equality in the “men’s” world and share experiences on how to cope with challenges, overcome obstacles and come out as winners, without neglecting their personal commitments.
