Art knows no gender, nationality or religion, and as such, is a true advocate of change. In the case of our institution, art is a great driver for many of our activities aimed at promoting tolerance and equality, said Commissioner Brankica Jankovic at the opening of the exhibition of young LGBT artists, held on the occasion of the International Day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT), within the project “Horizontal Facility” organized by the EU and the Council of Europe.
Commissioner pointed out that the new generations should be taught that everyone is equal but special in the same time and that these differences provide an opportunity for us to progress and develop further as individuals and as a society. The Art, not the law, breaks down prejudices, expands horizons, opens all doors, said Commissioner, stating that by promoting LGBT culture and art, it contributes to reducing social distance towards this community.
