Commissioner for Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic attended international manifestation “How and Why We Remember?” organized on the occasion of anniversary of Novi Sad raid and liberation of Auschwitz by History Archive of Novi Sad, Cultural Center Novi Sad and Teraforming.

Memory of the events that market the greatest moral and human backslide is our obligation and debt to the past, to millions of people who were sacrificed for us, so we can have a chance today to build a common future. In order to succeed, we have to pay special attention to education of young people. It’s very important to teach them to cultivate the memory about Holocaust victims, to learn historical facts in order to resist eventual attempts to revise the history – said Commissioner.

Manifestation was also attended by Ivan Silar, deputy Mayor of Novi Sad, Maayan Ben Tura, deputy Ambassador of Israel and Dorothea Gieselman, deputy Ambassador of Germany.
