Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Janković, visited the National Council of the Hungarian National Minority in Subotica as part of her planned tour of national minority councils.
In the conversation with the council president, Árpád Fremond, and his colleagues, the importance of continuing good cooperation focused on improving equality in all domains, especially in preventing discrimination, was highlighted.
With a two-day seminar in Subotica, a new cycle of training for representatives of national councils of national minorities, which the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality is implementing in cooperation with the OSCE Mission in Serbia, has started. The Seminar participants had the opportunity to learn about the concept and forms of discrimination, the role, competencies, and practice of the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, as well as criminal-legal protection and affirmative measures to achieve equality, through lectures and workshops.
