The time has come when we should learn from young people and your determination to join the combating violence against women confirms this, in such direct and creative manner, said Commissioner for Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic to high school students, participants of project „Young Agents of Change Vs. Violence Against Women“, at the ending conference organized by Center for Modern Skills in cooperation with UN Women.
More than 50 boys and girls from the high schools in Paracin, Kikinda, Sabac and Belgrade produced four different campaigns in their cities, which were presented in schools and on social networks.
Commissioner introduced students to concepts of discrimination, prejudices and stereotypes and presented the role of the institution of Commissioner for Protection of Equality, while students talked about examples from their environments and expressed interest in ways of joining the combat against discrimination.
The project was implemented within regional UN Women program „Stop the Violence Against Women: Implementation of Norms, Change of Awareness“ with support from European Union.
