Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Janković, attended the conference “Justice in transition toward European integration: challenges and opportunities for efficient protection of human rights”, within the project “Strengthening of educational activities and organizational capacities of Judicial Academy” of a consortium led by the British Council.
Topics discussed at the conference included issues of dialogue between national courts and European Court of Human Rights, challenges that the Serbian justice system faces in the implementation of European Convention on Human Rights and instruments that can be helpful in overcoming these challenges.
Conference was attended by judges from the Constitutional Court, Supreme Court of Cassation, appellate courts, higher courts, public prosecutors and deputy public prosecutors at the level of the Republic Prosecutor’s Office, appellate and higher prosecutor’s offices and other interested stakeholders.
