Brankica Janković wins prestigious Justitia Lifetime Award

Commissioner for Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic won prestigious international Justitia Award 2025, in category International Leaders / Lifetime Award, which recognizes influential and exceptional women in the field of law for their lifetime achievements.

„I would like to thank Women in Law Initiative for recognizing effort, commitment and perseverance invested in the fight against discrimination and the work for equality of all citizens of Serbia as a lasting contribution to society and as an inspiration for generations to come“, said Brankica Janković at the award ceremony held at the University of Vienna.

The Commissioner says that it is a great honor and exceptional recognition to receive this prestigious award, which for her represents not only personal recognition, but also confirmation that the long-term work of the Institution of Commissioner, which she has led for ten years, has been recognized and valued at the international level.

All these years, we have been working devotedly and sent a message that fight against discrimination and the promotion of equal rights are universal value of every democratic society, for which we must constantly fight, especially in these challenging times when human rights are often under attack. This award is additional motivation for me to continue fighting for true equality, said Jankovic.

The Commissioner also congratulated the winners in other categories, especially Slovenian President Natasa Pirc Musar and Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger, winners of the Political Game Changer award. She also congratulated all the nominated women, because each of them, through their work, perseverance and courage, shows that it is possible to change the world for the better, the Commissioner added.
