Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Milan Antonijević, met with the President of the Olympic Committee of Serbia, Dejan Tomašević, and Secretary General, Dejan Bojović, with whom he discussed topics of mutual interest and opportunities for future cooperation, with particular emphasis on the position of women in sport.

Further cooperation and closer links between the two institutions were agreed upon, as well as training sessions for employees of the OCS to be conducted by the institution of the Commissioner in the areas within its remit.

On that occasion, the Commissioner recalled the recommendation that the institution addressed to the Ministry of Sport in 2024, with the aim of creating more supportive conditions for girls and women in sport – from greater representation of women in leadership positions in sports federations and among coaches, to systemic investment in women’s sport. He also pointed to a more recent recommendation, issued at the beginning of 2026, concerning the position of female athletes who are not in an employment relationship and who, in the event of pregnancy, may be left without any means of subsistence.
