Commissioner for Protection of Equality, Milan Antonijević, and Assistant Commissioner, Jelena Kotević, held a meeting with representatives of the National Council of the Roma National Minority and the REDI organization.

The meeting addressed the further advancement of equality for Roma men and women, and one of the topics was the issue of an example of misuse of the National Employment Service program intended for the self-employment of members of the Roma national minority.

Along with agreement that recognizing discrimination and responding in situations where the principle of equality has been violated are of exceptional importance, readiness was expressed to work continuously on improving affirmative measures as one of the tools for creating equal opportunities for social groups that have remained marginalized for historical, social or economic reasons.
