Commissioner Visits Summer Camp for Children with Disabilities

Commissioner for Protection of Equality, Milan Antonijević, visited the first group of participants in the rehabilitation and recreational camp for children with disabilities, which is being held at the Red Cross resort in Bogovađa, in partnership with the “Heroes of the Belgrade Marathon” Foundation and the Belgrade Sports Association for Persons with Disabilities.

During the summer, 150 students will stay at this camp, where they will have the opportunity to strengthen their skills and improve their physical abilities through sports, educational, rehabilitation and recreational activities, develop independence, as well as socialize and gain new experiences.

The building of an inclusive society begins precisely in this way – through support, understanding and the creation of equal opportunities for everyone. Every child deserves a space in which they feel empowered, accepted and motivated, and sport is one of the best examples of how broader social solidarity can be encouraged, Commissioner Antonijević emphasized after speaking with the children, coaches and professional associates.

Serbian national handball team player Dragana Cvijić was also a guest at the camp today, so the gathering could not pass without a friendly match in which the children, Belgrade Marathon Director, Darko Hubaš, and the Commissioner’s team also participated.
