Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Milan Antonijević, met with the Ambassador of Turkey to Serbia, İlhan Saygılı, who, together with his associate, visited the institution of the Commissioner.

Antonijević and Saygılı discussed the empowerment of women, measures aimed at the rights of the child and persons with disabilities, as well as possible cooperation in improving their position. The meeting also addressed the protection of the rights of national minorities, particularly in areas with a mixed national composition. The Commissioner pointed out that in one such area in Serbia, a regional office of the Commissioner in Novi Pazar has been operating for many years.

In a friendly conversation, they also touched upon the fields of education, legislation, as well as strategic documents in the field of equality that Serbia has adopted, and which can serve as a model for improving the rights of citizens in Turkey.
