Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Milan Antonijević, met with representatives of Austria’s Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health and Consumer Protection, with which our institution has had successful long-standing cooperation, primarily in the field of protecting the rights of older people.

The meeting addressed opportunities for continuing joint activities, and one of the main topics of discussion was the prevention of domestic violence and violence against older people. On that occasion, the Commissioner presented some of the most important activities undertaken by the institution toward that goal, with a special focus on recommendations for measures aimed at improving the position of older people. Examples of good practice were also exchanged, such as the Boysday counselling day for men, which is regularly organized by the Austrian ministry.
