The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Janković, presented the regular annual reports of the Commissioner for the years 2022, 2023, and 2024 to the Committee on Human and Minority Rights and Gender Equality of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia.

Janković informed the MPs, members of the Committee, about the most important data regarding the state of equality, significant challenges in specific areas, the practice of the Commissioner’s institution in handling citizens’ complaints, as well as the activities the Commissioner undertakes to improve the position of social groups at increased risk of discrimination.

During the discussion, some MPs expressed interest in learning more about the recommendation of measures for the adequate treatment of pregnant women and women giving birth that the Commissioner addressed to healthcare institutions, as well as about the inadequate provision of emergency healthcare services to elderly persons.
