Meeting of Commissioner Janković with the Director of the OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre

The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Janković, met with the Director of the OSCE Conflict Prevention Centre, Kate Fearon, with whom she discussed, among other topics, the importance of equal participation of women in the security sector and the implementation of the UN Agenda “Women, Peace, and Security” in Serbia.

Janković and Fearon agreed that the full implementation of this agenda requires more active political support, more substantial financial investment, and greater participation of women at all levels of decision-making, especially at the local level.

The conversation also touched on the importance of independent institutions for the protection of human rights, as well as the key activities of the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality. It was especially emphasized that, in complex social and security circumstances, it is crucial to preserve the safety, human rights, and equality of all citizens.
