Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Janković, met with representatives of the Umbrella Organization of Youth of Serbia (KOMS), Secretary General Milica Borjanić and Program Manager Gordana Adamov. The main topics of the meeting were preventing discrimination against young people and the need for their greater inclusion in decision-making processes, which will contribute to improving their position and building trust in institutions, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2250, namely, the Agenda “Youth, Peace and Security”.

The conversation assessed that the attacks on young people that have occurred in recent days are a cause for serious concern. On that occasion, it was emphasized that no one’s safety and physical integrity must be endangered under any circumstances, and that everyone must be enabled to exercise their basic human rights.

The meeting also discussed the announced proposal to resolve the housing issue of young people and concluded that when formulating the conditions for this incentive measure, it should be borne in mind that not all young people are a homogeneous group, but that they have different financial, family and other life circumstances.
