This year\u2019s topic was discrimination on social media, and competitors were tasked with representing their case before the judges.<\/p>\n<p>The second-place team, Safo, also comes from the Ni\u0161 Faculty of Law, while third place went to Hypatia from the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade. The best speakers\u2019 award went to Mila Jovanovi\u0107 and Kristina Stojanovi\u0107 from the winning team Marcus Aurelius.<\/p>\n<p>The Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Jankovi\u0107, congratulated the awarded students for their excellent legal knowledge and persuasive arguments. Having dedicated students year after year who believe in the values of equality and non-discrimination, and who fight for justice and fairness, represents great hope and an investment in the prosperity of our society, Jankovi\u0107 said.<\/p>\n<p>The judges in the simulated trial were: Vida Petrovi\u0107 \u0160kero, Dejan Ukropina, Ivana Rami\u0107, Bosa Nenadi\u0107, Katarina Golubovi\u0107, Relja Panti\u0107, Danilo Krivokapi\u0107, Dejan \u0110uki\u0107, Kruna Savovi\u0107, Neboj\u0161a Lazarevi\u0107, Vesna Petrovi\u0107, and Stefan Vladisavljev.<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cMoot Court\u201d competition is the only event of its kind in Europe in the field of discrimination. It consists of drafting a lawsuit and a response to a lawsuit, as well as simulating a hearing based on a hypothetical case drawn from the Commissioner\u2019s practice.
