{"id":35433,"date":"2019-06-25T12:26:48","date_gmt":"2019-06-25T10:26:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ravnopravnost.gov.rs\/?p=35433"},"modified":"2019-06-26T11:49:47","modified_gmt":"2019-06-26T09:49:47","slug":"hospices-as-a-good-way-for-treating-seriously-ill-patients","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ravnopravnost.gov.rs\/en\/hospices-as-a-good-way-for-treating-seriously-ill-patients\/","title":{"rendered":"Hospices as a good way for treating seriously ill patients"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In times when there is an increasing number of people with malign diseases, helping and caring of seriously ill patients is very important, because more than a few of them are being discriminated against, said Commissioner for Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic at the event organized on the occasion of the termination of project \u201eRenovation and Constitution of Daily Centre at the First Hospice in Serbia\u201c, which is located in Mali Mokri Lug in Belgrade.<\/p>\n<p>Commissioner offers its full support to all activities aimed to palliative care and opening of this centre is an excellent move. Still, one centre is not enough, said Commissioner Jankovic, adding that developing of mixed social-health services should be one of priorities in the forthcoming period, in order to provide dignified living for seriously ill patients. Commissioner had conversation with Hospice users who told her that such centres mean a lot to them, since they offer the sense of dignity and humanity in terminal phase of their illness.<\/p>\n<p>Project of Daily Centre at the First Hospice in Serbia is realized through grant scheme of Efficient Services Development in Area of Education and Social Care at the local level, implemented in cooperation of the Ministry of Finances of the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Issues and European Union funds .
