During the visit, they discussed about extension of very good cooperation of two institutions, while Commissioner and President of European Ombudsman Institute and Rheniland-Plfalz Province Ombudsman, Dieter Burgard, exchanged experiences related to activities and mechanisms aimed to protection against discrimination.<\/p>\n<p>Commissioner also participated the expert conference dedicated to police and other executive authorities representatives relation to Roma and Sinti, in organization of Federal Anti- Discrimination Agency and Central Committee of German Sinti and Roma, because research indicate that these national minorities are specially exposed to discrimination. Commissioner Jankovic spoke about cases proceeded by Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, noting that the greatest number of complaints for discrimination on grounds of nationality were related to Roma national minority and also presented the examples of good practice in integration of Roma, primarily young men and women, aimed to improve the overall position of Roma community in Serbia.<\/p>\n<p>During her visit to Berlin, Commissioner also met with the Minister for Family Issues, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth of the Republic of Germany, Katarina Barley and attended the ceremony where she received the FADA award for personal commitment to the fight against discrimination.<\/p>\n\n ","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Commissioner for the Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic, paid a working visit to Berlin upon invitation of Director of Federal Anti- Discrimination Agency (FADA), Christine Luders.
