Commissioner at the conference on European integration of the countries of the Western Balkans

Commissioner for the Protection of Equality, Brankica Janković, attended the conference on Euro-Atlantic integration of the Western Balkans, which, as part of the Project “Strengthening EU Integration in Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia”, was realized by the Balkan Fund for Democracy of the German Marshall Fund of the USA, with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Belgrade and the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The conference brought together important actors from the Western Balkans to engage in a discussion on the strengthening of Euro-Atlantic integration, perspectives at the regional level, cooperation, the impact of the war in Ukraine on the Western Balkans, as well as the perspective of civil society on the process of the region’s integration into the European Union.

At the opening of the conference, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić and Norwegian Ambassador Jørn Eugen Gjelstad spoke, and among the participants were Minister for European Integration Tanja Miščević, US Ambassador Christopher Hill, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Plamena Halacheva, Head of the Department for Southeast Europe of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs of affairs Kristin Melsom and representatives of civil society organizations from Serbia and the region.
