Acting within the framework of legally prescribed competencies to monitor the implementation of laws concerning the prohibition of discrimination and to recommend measures to achieve equality to the public authorities and other persons (Art. 33, items 7 and 9 of the Law on the Prohibition of Discrimination, “Official Gazette of RS”, No. 22/2009), the Commissioner for the Protection of Equality gives the following

RECOMMENDATION

All necessary measures need to be taken, in accordance with legal competences, to ensure that the proceedings in discriminatory litigation, which are held before (sent to all courts in the Republic of Serbia) on the basis of the provisions of the Law on Prohibition of Discrimination and other anti-discrimination regulations, are carried out expeditiously and completed in the shortest possible time, in accordance with the provision of Article 41, para. 3 of the Law on Prohibition of Discrimination, which stipulates that such proceedings are urgent.
