Prizes for the best travels of older persons

The fourth Contest for the best travels of older persons „Dragan’s Award“, organized by Association „Strength of Friendship“ Amity, was completed and authors of the best travels were ceremonially announced in the Belgrade City Library.

Commissioner for the Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic admired the engagement and creativity of older people who in such way shatter prejudices about aged persons. She stressed that equality can be promoted in different areas, particularly in art, which is not limited by any borders, especially by ones related to someone’s age.

Contest goal is to support active aging and contribute to creating of such environment where older people, their thoughts, emotions and life experience would be respected in a deserving manner, said Nadezda Sataric, president of Amity Managerial Board. Other speakers at the ceremony were also writers Miljurko Vukadinovic i Vidak Maslovaric.

First place in the category „Women’s travel story“ is won by Miroslava Miljkovic from  Nis, while Miloje Stevanovic from Belgrade is winner in category „Men’s travel story“. Stamen Milovanovic from Nis wrote the best story related to travel in Serbia, Stevan Bukovic from Belgrade wrote the best story about travel abroad and Momcilo Janjicic Momos from Indjija won the first place in category of the best travel poem.

This year, many travels from towns throughout Serbia and neighboring countries were sent to the contest. A publication „Memories Treasury“, containing 15 awarded and 15 complemented works, was also presented at the ceremony.
