Commissioner at the presentation of Danube Region Information Platform for Integration of Migrants

Migration were an integration part of human history and information was, and still is, the key element for successful integration of newcomers, said Commissioner for Protection of Equality Brankica Jankovic at the presentation of “Danube Region Information Platform for Integration of Migrants”, implemented by YUCOM within a regional project.

She stressed that Danube Compass platform is linguistically adapted and contains information on various aspects of life and work in 8 countries from Danube Region (Serbia, Austria, Croatia, Czech, Hungary, Germany, Slovenia and Slovakia) and that is, as such, important in informing both migrants and all citizens about their rights and obligations in the social systems of these countries.

Commissioner said that the institution she is helming recognizes this project as the important element in the improvement of equality and participates in it as associate, strategic partner.

Jankovic considers as essential that no one in our country feels as a second class citizen, but as an equal person in a society which respects human rights.
